#realtalk 'How I re-invented the shower cap'

Simone Taylor is the founder of Louvelle, a brand that is successfully re-inventing ugly outdated shower caps and keeping our tresses dry and protected at the same time. We spoke to her to find out why she started Louvelle, what entrepreneur life is like, and how she unwinds. 

Why did you decide to create a range luxury shower turbans?

As a busy mother I didn't have time to wash and blow dry every day so I had to wear the dreaded bonnet style shower cap and I felt so ugly wearing it (and would often get a funny look from my husband) and I thought there must be a more stylish shower cap but couldn't find one so I created one! It was important to be functional and chic.

How can we use our shower turbans in different ways?

The biggest compliment has been that people are wearing them out - to the pool to keep splashes at bay or in the rain after getting a blow out!

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?

The freedom and flexibility it provides which is what I set out to achieve after having my first baby. I wanted to be able to work my career around my children. Also, the ability to learn new things every day has been amazing to grow my confidence and experience as a businesswoman. 

What are your me-time rituals? 

Having two small children, 'me-time' is a bit of a distant memory but once the children are in bed I love to have a glass of wine or dark chocolate and read a novel or watch a favourite show. If we are on holiday a spa bath is pure bliss! It's important to me to be able to wind down at night, I choose not to work past dinner and I find this is vital to drifting off to a good night's sleep.

Your top 3 desert island wellness essentials?

I am a beauty junkie so it's hard to narrow down to 3 but staying hydrated with coconut water, a Babescrub body souffle and some paw paw ointment for my lips!
