#realtalk 'I love creating delicious GF treats' with Nodo Donut's Kate
What do you do, and what do you love about it?
I am the Founder of Nodo. We specialise in gluten free donuts. I love making people happy and working in a business where I get to be creative and work alongside like-minded people who have a passion for good food and healthy living!
Describe a regular weekday…
I spend most of my day in the kitchen working behind the scenes at our cafe in Newstead, where I feel most comfortable. I have no formal training as a chef or baker but just love creating delicious gluten free treats.
We recently opened a collaboration store with Pressed Juices in Brisbane’s CBD so I bounce between the two stores, which are luckily only 5 minutes from each other. I am focusing more time on marketing to grow and expand the business. This includes product development, building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients and reaching out to like minded businesses to bring exciting collaborations to life for our beautiful customers.
What are your top 5 ‘desert island' beauty or wellness essentials?
- Brow kit to keep those brows groomed and full
- A good moisturiser with sunscreen (2 in 1)
- Water to hyrdrate
- Entertainment - phone for Instagram (sounds sad, but trying to be honest here)
How do you unwind?
I love a bath! There is nothing more soothing and relaxing then a good bath with lots of Soak Society bath salts. I also try to schedule in a massage or facial, anything relaxing and pampering.
What are your favourite healthy snacks to whip up?
I love a good smoothie. I am always on the run so I regularly whip myself up a super natural shake for the road from our menu. Usually the “Love By Chocolate” which has banana, cacao, dates and almond milk. I love to add some greens like baby spinach or a zucchini for a little extra green goodness!
