Winter is coming which means it’s time to up our skin care routines to keep us looking healthy and glowing all year round. Looking after your skin is a priority.
The colder months allow for warm baths, comfy clothes and some relief from the heat, however along with that comes dry skin. Stuck on how to prevent dry skin in Winter? Don’t fret, we’ve got you covered! Check out these simple beauty hacks to make you feel moisturised and wonderful in the cold season.
Soak to your hearts content
Did someone say match made in heaven? Having a bath in winter is a winning combo and what better than adding your favourite soak to the mix! The Sleep Wellness Bath Soak is going to be your best friend this winter due to the nourishing ingredients such as oatmeal and white clay to moisturise and soften the skin.
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!
It’s a no-brainer yet it’s something we all forget to do. By doing so you are putting back into your body all the moisture that has been sucked out due to the cold and extra hot showers we’re all guilty of! The key times to moisturise is after you shower or have a bath (as this will allow for the spaces between your skin cells to keep in moisture while the skin is still damp), and when you wake and go to bed.
Some other ways of moisturising include, carrying a hand lotion with you in your hand bag, using oils such as rose hip oil before you go to bed, putting on eye cream, using body lotions and of course a nourishing lip balm!
Use a humidifier
A humidifier is going to be your bestie this winter! We’re talking top level skin hydrater here. By setting it to around 60%, the top layer of your skin is able to replenish and leave you feeling wonderful.
Stay away from harsh soaps
Steer clear of deodorant soaps, perfumed soaps, and alcohol products, as these products strip the skin of natural oils and moisture that is needed especially in winter. Instead use products (like our Silicone free and Paraben free Luxe Range) that are soap free cleansers that will do what soap does without the negative effects.
Swap out your matte foundation to a dewy BB cream
Now that you don’t have dry skin thanks to these handy tips and tricks, by using a dewy BB cream you’ll look glowy, highlighted and illuminated even more than you would and by changing your foundation from matte to dewy your face will look the part (plus it looks more natural).
It’s so so so important to look after your skin well especially in the colder months, give these beauty hacks a go and tell us what worked for you best, and don’t forget to moisturise!
